In preparation for the upcoming Youm-e-Ali procession in Karachi, the police have unveiled a comprehensive traffic plan to ensure smooth movement and public safety during the event.
The procession, scheduled to commence at 1 p.m. from Nishtar Park and culminate at Hussainia Iranian, Imam Bargah Khairuddin by 7 p.m., will traverse key routes in the city.
According to the traffic police, the designated route includes Nishtar Park, M.A. Jinnah Road, Capri Cinema, Regal Chowk, and Preedy Street. To manage the flow effectively, traffic diversions will be implemented at strategic points.
From Soldier Bazaar, Coast Guard, Uncle Sarya Chowk, and Chirya Ghar, traffic will be redirected towards Nishtar Road. Similarly, vehicles coming from Nazimabad will be rerouted from Lasbela Chowk onto Nishtar Road.
Motorists from Liaquatabad will follow a diversion towards Martin Road from Teen Hatti Chowk leading to Jail Road. Notably, vehicles will have access up to Jail Chowrangi Flyover, then directed towards Jamshed Road, Kashmir Road, Shahrah-e-Quaideen, and Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Individuals traveling from Stadium Road or Super Highway via Gulberg can expect diversions towards M.A. Jinnah Road through specified routes like Liaquatabad No. 10 and Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2.
For participants joining the procession, the traffic police advise entry from specific points based on their originating locations. Those from Nazimabad can join from Lasbela Chowk, Garden, or Soldier Bazaar No. 3, while Liaquatabad participants are directed towards Gromandir Chowk via Teen Hatti.
Additionally, those coming via Shahrah-e-Quaideen can enter from Society Signal to join the procession seamlessly.
This meticulous traffic plan aims to facilitate the movement of both procession participants and regular commuters, ensuring minimal disruptions and efficient traffic management throughout the event.
