Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has officially announced that Pakistan’s federal budget will be presented on June 10, marking a key event in the country’s financial and political calendar.
This was confirmed during his appearance on the program Nadeem Malik Live on Samaa TV in which he discussed economic planning and other national matters.
No Major Legislation Before Budget Session
The minister said that the government won’t introduce any major legislation before the budget session. He stressed that the focal point right now is:
- Economic planning
- Fiscal strategy
- National financial priorities
This means that all legislative focus is now on finalisation of the next budget framework.
Political Situation and Internal Tensions
During the interview, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also spoke about the political landscape of the country. He said if interference takes place, the Sohail Afridi government would fall in two days.
He also cited the conflict between political parties such as factions loyal to Ali Amin and Sohail Afridi, noting escalating polarization in politics.
Pakistan’s Role in Iran–US Diplomatic Talks
The minister also pointed out that Pakistan is playing an active role in the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States, and that this role has been appreciated globally.
He alleged that former US President Donald Trump himself had confessed to Pakistan’s role on extending the ceasefire, giving credit to Pakistan’s leadership, including the Prime Minister and Field Marshal.
He said it is possible diplomatic efforts could result in a final deal between the United States and Iran, and suggested the final round of talks could be in Islamabad.
Hope for Economic and Regional Stability
Tariq Fazal Chaudhry hoped that with better ties between Iran and the United States, Pakistan would gain from the improvements, both economically and strategically. He said Pakistan’s leadership is ready to use the fruits of the diplomatic gains for:
- National stability
- Economic development
- Regional cooperation
He stressed that final decisions remain with global policymakers, but Pakistan continues to play a constructive diplomatic role.
