“He’s Hot!” Atiqa Odho Sparks Buzz With Bold Comment on Actor Zahid Ahmed

Veteran actor and TV host Atiqa Odho has sparked an online debate after her recent comments on a popular Pakistani drama character during an episode of the Hum TV review show Kya Drama Hai.

Odho, with Nadia Khan and Marina Khan, is recognise for her blunt and bold feedback on the latest dramas in Pakistan.

In the segment, she made lighthearted but impressive comments about the actor Zahid Ahmed’s character Dil Nawaz, calling him a ‘ladykiller’ while raising questions about the storyline featuring a woman.

“If I were the heroine, I would have run away with Dil Nawaz because he’s hot, powerful, rich, stylish, rides horses, has a stable, dresses beautifully, and has lovely eyes,” Odho said on the show.

She also had questions about the choices made in the drama, noting that she did not see how the heroine could have been happier with a “poor guy” rather than a “practical” one.

“Honestly, I don’t know what Heer was thinking. She wants to marry that poor guy instead. What is this? Seriously, what is this?” she added.

Odho also shared her thoughts on decision-making in love, that sometimes we fall in love so much that we lose our perspective.

“If you are deeply in love, you cannot see practicality, and after a certain age, you can see that your choices must be more practical,” she said.

The remarks immediately picked up on social media outlets, with viewers giving mixed responses. A good portion of users said that they liked the impact Zahid Ahmed left on the screen and that he was exceptional in terms of presence on the screen, in which he got support from users.

But some viewers complained about the comments, saying that such debates can unwittingly glorify dominant or “toxic” idealized male roles which are prevalent in Pakistani dramas.

The debate continues online, reflecting ongoing conversations about romance, character writing, and representation in mainstream Pakistani television content produced under channels like Hum TV.
