Makkah, Saudi Arabia: Around 118,000 Pakistani pilgrims have officially begun their sacred Hajj journey, moving towards Mina as the annual pilgrimage enters its most important ritual phase. The fifth pillar of Islam, Hajj, is now underway with extensive arrangements made for pilgrims’ facilitation, transport, medical care, and guidance.

Essential Items Pilgrims Carry to Mina
Before departing for Mina, pilgrims have been strongly advised to keep their carry-on bags light and include only essential items to ensure mobility and ease during rituals. Recommended items include:
- Small prayer mat
- Pakistani Hajj card
- Official wristband
- Nusuk (mobile app) card
- Daily prescription medicines
- Water bottle for hydration
- Sunglasses and umbrella for heat protection
- Mobile charger and power bank
- Extra set of clothes
Officials emphasized that pilgrims should avoid carrying unnecessary luggage to remain focused on prayers and the spiritual obligations of Hajj.
Large-Scale Welfare and Medical Support in Place
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, nearly 96% of welfare staff—1,517 personnel—have already been deployed across Saudi Arabia to assist Pakistani pilgrims.
This includes:
- 921 Hajj assistants (Moavineen)
- 178 technical staff (Khuddam/SDS)
- 418 medical professionals
Additionally, “Haram Guides” deployed around Masjid al-Haram have already assisted more than 20,698 pilgrims, ensuring smooth navigation and crowd management.
Madinah Pilgrims and Riaz-ul-Jannah Visits
In Madinah, authorities have facilitated 38,594 Pakistani pilgrims, including men and women, to visit Riaz-ul-Jannah for prayers and spiritual reflection.
Transport and Logistics Expanded in Makkah
To manage the large influx of pilgrims, transport operations have been significantly strengthened in Makkah.
- Total shuttle buses increased to 469
- 24/7 transport services operational
- Highest demand recorded in Sector 1, Sector 7, and Sector 8
The expanded fleet ensures smooth movement between accommodation sites, the Grand Mosque, and ritual locations.
