In a groundbreaking move, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has declared that the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) will now issue driving licenses nationwide. This means that residents from any corner of the country can now apply for an Islamabad driving license.

The minister also took a firm stand against illegally tinted windows, announcing the cancellation of all existing permits. This step is expected to enhance road safety and transparency.

To make the process of obtaining an Islamabad driving license more accessible, Naqvi introduced facilitation programs specifically designed for college and university students, as well as senior citizens living in the federal capital. Under these initiatives, students’ driving licenses will be processed and delivered directly to their educational institutions. Meanwhile, Islamabad residents aged 70 and above will have the convenience of receiving their licenses at home.

Naqvi presided over the launch of the Islamabad Traffic Police Facilitation on Wheels and Islamabad Traffic Police Education on Wheels at the ITP Headquarters. He also revealed the mobile licenses and learning vans operated by the Islamabad Traffic Police at F-9 Park, marking a significant step towards modernization and efficiency.

In his commitment to improving the city’s infrastructure, the interior minister pledged to ensure the availability of parking in all commercial areas of Islamabad. He warned of strict action against commercial centers that fail to provide adequate parking facilities.

Naqvi has revoked all tinted window permits despite the ban. He also directed the Islamabad Traffic Police to issue licenses to residents nationwide. He stressed that Islamabad residents should have no obstacles in license applications.

This nationwide access to the Islamabad driving license marks a new chapter in the country’s traffic management and road safety efforts.
