Karachi’s public transportation scene has undergone a substantial enhancement with the introduction of the Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. This cutting-edge mass transit system, launched in early 2022, is set to revolutionize the city’s commuting experience, commencing with a 21-kilometer route featuring 22 conveniently situated stations.
Revolutionary Fleet and Accessibility
To ensure a smooth and comfortable journey, the Green Line BRT has deployed 80 diesel hybrid buses, each accommodating up to 150 passengers. Manufactured by Foton, these buses are equipped with advanced features such as security cameras and charging ports, enhancing safety and convenience for commuters.
The primary objective of the Green Line BRT is to cater to approximately 135,000 passengers daily, making urban commuting more convenient than ever. With buses arriving at stations every 10 minutes, this frequent and reliable service is a game-changer for Karachi’s daily commuters.
Pioneer in a Comprehensive Initiative
The Green Line Bus Karachi is the first operational metro bus route under the “TransKarachi” project, addressing transportation challenges in the megacity. As the project evolves, more routes and services are expected to complement the Green Line, offering comprehensive solutions to Karachi’s transportation issues.

Green Line Bus Karachi Route and Stops
The Green Line Bus Karachi’s route has 22 stations, each about 1 kilometer apart. Stations include Surjani Terminal, 4K Chowrangi, North Karachi, UP Morr, Nagan Chowrangi, Sakhi Hassan, Shahrah-e-Jehangir, Hyderi, Shahrah-e-Humayun, Orange Line, North Nazimabad, Eid Gah Bagh, Urdu Bazaar, Gul Bahar, Lasbela, Guru Mandir, and Numaish Chowrangi.
Affordable Ticket Prices
The Green Line Bus service offers cost-effective commuting, with a minimum fare of PKR 15 and a maximum fare of PKR 55 for a single trip. The entire Green Line route is priced at a fixed PKR 55 per ticket, regardless of the distance traveled.

Green Bus Mobile App
The Sindh Government launched the Breeze App for Karachi’s BRT users. They did this with SIDCL and the Ministry of Planning and Development. The app is free and available on both Android and iOS. It lets you track buses in real-time, recharge your account, and buy metro cards and tickets. This makes your journey on the Green Line Bus Karachi smooth and easy.
