Karachi Heatwave Alert 29 April: Temperature May Hit 36°C

KARACHI: As of today, 29th April, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast intense heat across Sindh, warning of a possible heatwave in several parts of the province over the coming days.
Temperatures in Karachi are predicted to reach up to 36°C today as the city is expected to experience another hot summer; also, regions of upper and central Sindh will have a heatwave today.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has indicated that hot weather for the next 3 days will remain in Karachi, with a high temperature today expected from 34°C to 36°C, 36°C on Wednesday, and 37°C on Thursday.
In addition, hot and dry weather conditions will prevail over most areas of Sindh today, and the heatwave will continue in central and upper Sindh through May 3rd.
Temperatures for Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, and Sanghar are predicted to be approximately 4-6 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average. Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur will also be affected by the heatwave.
Farmers have been advised to plan wheat-related activities in line with the prevailing weather conditions, while livestock owners are encouraged to take necessary steps to protect animals from extreme heat.
Meanwhile, in Karachi, hot weather is expected to persist over the next three days. The maximum temperature is likely to range between 34°C and 36°C today, rising to around 36°C on Wednesday and 37°C on Thursday, according to the Met Office.
