In light of the upcoming three-day visit by Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, Lahore’s local authorities have rolled out a comprehensive traffic plan. The Lahore Ring Road will be temporarily closed from 6am to 3pm, with alternate routes suggested for the public’s convenience.
Traffic heading towards Lahore will be rerouted from Kala Shah Kaku for the duration of the President’s stay in the city. This measure is part of the city’s efforts to ensure a smooth and disruption-free visit for the esteemed guest.
Adding to the city’s preparations, the Punjab government has announced a local holiday in Lahore on April 23, 2024, coinciding with the official visit of the Iranian President. This means that government offices, schools, and educational institutions will be closed on this day, as per the official notification.
The holiday, however, is exclusive to Lahore District, with no disruptions expected in the operations of the Punjab Civil Secretariat departments. This decision was communicated through a notification issued by the Chief Secretary Punjab.
