Cold weather has tightened its grip across Pakistan, with Karachi recording its lowest temperatures this winter. Chilly winds reduced traffic and outdoor activity in the city, while Quetta and Chaman faced sub-zero conditions.
Karachi Weather: Single Digits and Icy Winds
The Karachi weather hit a minimum of 8°C last night after rain, but the “feels-like” temperature was a bone-chilling 4°C.
These icy winds cleared the streets. Usually, our city never sleeps, but late-night and early-morning traffic saw a massive decline. Even the local parks, typically full of morning joggers, stood nearly empty. The biting Karachi weather kept most people tucked under their blankets.
Freezing Conditions in Quetta and Chaman
While we shiver in Sindh, Balochistan is facing extreme conditions. Quetta recorded a staggering –9°C, with the wind chill making it feel like –14°C. Chaman isn’t far behind at –6°C, feeling like –12°C.
- Quetta: –9°C (Feels like –14°C)
- Chaman: –6°C (Feels like –12°C)
- Karachi: 8°C (Feels like 4°C)
The ongoing Karachi weather shift is tied to these northern systems. The Met Office expects these dry, cold winds to persist for a few more days. If you are heading out, dress in heavy layers and stay hydrated.
