Pakistan mourns the demise of a prominent religious scholar, teacher of Islamic sciences, and long-serving academic figure Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi, who passed away after decades of scholarly and educational services.
Death of Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi
Pakistan’s well-known Islamic scholar Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi has passed away, according to Express News. He was the head of Minhaj-ul-Quran and a renowned scholar in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) and religious education.
Academic and Religious Services
The scholar was a life-long educator and a contributor to Islamic scholarship. He had been working in the College of Sharia and Islamic Sciences for almost 38 years and was instrumental in training and guiding thousands of students.
He was a teacher who left a legacy of Islamic knowledge and guidance. Today, thousands of his students are serving in various religious and educational institutions in Pakistan and around the world.
Funeral Arrangements
His funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janaza) is to be offered at Minhaj-ul-Quran central secretariat after Maghrib prayer. The funeral is expected to be attended by a large number of scholars, students and followers.
Scholarly Legacy
Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi was well respected as a teacher of Islamic sciences and Fiqh who had devoted a number of years to academic activities and leadership in Islamic education. His death is a great loss to the religious college fraternity in Pakistan.
