To guarantee the legitimacy and accuracy of Pakistan’s citizens’ National Identity Cards (NICs), the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) is consistently adopting cutting-edge technology alongside clearly defined operational guidelines. As of December 2023, NADRA’s distinctive 13-digit identification number has become indispensable for a range of official documents, including licenses, National Tax Numbers (NTNs), bank accounts, passports, and mobile connections. This underscores its mandatory status for all eligible citizens aged 18 and older.
The updated fee structure for NIC renewal starting 2024 is as follows:
- Normal Renewal Fee: Rs750
- Urgent Services Fee: Rs1,500
- Executive Services Fee: Rs2,500
Renewing your NIC is mandatory after its expiry, and citizens aged 18 and above must adhere to this requirement. To facilitate the renewal process, NADRA provides two convenient methods:
- NADRA Registration Center (NRC):
- Visit your nearest NRC.
- Follow these steps:
- Obtain a token.
- Have your photograph taken.
- Provide fingerprints and signature.
- Complete required data entry and review the printed form.
- Receive a printed application form.
- Submit the form after attestation by a gazetted officer.
- Pak Identity Website:
- Apply for your Smart National Identity Card (SNIC) on the Pak Identity website.
- Your card will be delivered to your doorstep.
Please note that new CNIC applications cannot be submitted through the Pak Identity website. It’s essential to stay informed about the latest fee structure to ensure a smooth renewal process for your smart national identity card.
