Pakistan Installs Over 2.1 Million Smart Meters Nationwide

Islamabad: More than 2.1 million smart electricity meters have been installed across Pakistan’s power distribution companies, according to a written reply submitted by the Ministry of Energy to the Senate.

The Ministry of Energy submitted a written response to the Senate in this regard, providing details of the smart meters installed by various electricity distribution companies.

According to the data, Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) is leading in smart meter installation. A total of 1,153,556 smart meters have been installed in LESCO’s service area.

Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) has installed 348,135 smart meters, while 229,719 smart meters have been installed in the areas served by Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO).

Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has installed 119,372 smart meters; Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has installed 111,948; and Peshawar Electric Power Company (PESCO) has installed 60,685 smart meters.
