Pakistan Successfully Test-Fires Indigenous Fatah-4 Cruise Missile With 750km Range

Pakistan on Thursday successfully conducted the test launch of its indigenously developed “Fatah-4” ground-launched cruise missile, marking a significant milestone in the country’s conventional precision-strike capabilities.

The missile, officially unveiled by the Pakistan Army in August 2025, is said to possess a range of 750 kilometers and is intended for deep-strike against strategic targets with high accuracy.

The military officials said the Fatah-4 can fly low over the terrain to avoid being detected on enemy radar and even skirting the missile defence systems. The successful test showcased the missile’s cutting-edge operational capabilities and Pakistan’s strides in indigenous defence technology.

Advanced Navigation and Precision Strike Capability

It is believed the Fatah-4 missile is equipped with a mix of advanced Inertial Navigation System (INS), GPS guidance and Digital Scene Matching Area Correlation (DSMAC) technology. These systems allow the missile to obtain a Circular Error Probability (CEP) of almost five metres, which is one of the most accurate conventional strike systems of Pakistan.

The missile is said to be capable of carrying a 330 kg blast fragmentation conventional warhead for precision strike on high value enemy targets.

Defence experts say the cruise missile is around 7.5 metres long and operates at a subsonic speed just below Mach 0.7. It has a low radar signature and is capable of precision-guided strike, which are believed to be significant developments to the country’s strategic conventional deterrence posture.

Boost to Pakistan’s Indigenous Defence Industry

Military officials said the mission had been a success, a tribute to Pakistan’s growing indigenous defence production capabilities and its advancements in modern missile systems.

The Fatah-4 is expected to add to the operational potential of the Army Rocket Force Command, enabling the army’s longer-range precision strike capabilities and lowering its dependence on foreign military technology.

The development follows the growing attention being given to the development of new and advanced missile systems and modern technologies of warfare in the region, as Pakistan is also engaged in modernisation of its conventional military force with the indigenous platforms.
