Pakistan and Bangladesh have officially revived direct flights. Biman Bangladesh airlines flight BG-341 landed at the Karachi Jinnah International Airport on 29 January 2026, 14 years after the last flight. This re-start will save long and costly layovers in Dubai or Doha, a replacement of a three-hour direct flight.
Direct air travel between Dhaka and Karachi has finally resumed, ending a gap that started in 2012. The first flight arrived to a traditional water cannon salute and a warm welcome from top aviation officials. With 150 passengers on board, the inaugural service sold out quickly, showing huge demand for this route.
Pakistan to Bangladesh Flight Time

Biman Bangladesh Airlines now operates two flights every week. You can fly between Dhaka and Karachi on Thursdays and Saturdays.
- Dhaka to Karachi: Departs at 8:00 pm and lands at 11:00 pm.
- Karachi to Dhaka: Departs at midnight and lands at 4:20 am.
This service runs on a trial basis until 30 March 2026. Authorities will study the passenger numbers and flight operations during this time. If the trial succeeds, they plan to make the schedule permanent and perhaps add more flights.
For over a decade, travelers had to take indirect routes, making trips long and costly. Now, business people, students, and families can save time and money.
Officials like Bangladesh’s Sheikh Bashir Uddin and Pakistan’s Imran Haider attended the launch. They believe these flights will boost trade and bring the two nations closer together.
