RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has issued a registration form for keeping pet dogs in both urban and rural areas, including private homes, farmsteads, and neighbourhood streets.
Individuals who keep dogs at home, on a farm, or in a community must now register them as required by governmental mandates. The registration form will collect details, including but not limited to the owner’s name, address, dog breed, etc.
Authorities have also made vaccination of pet dogs compulsory. Citizens must get their animals vaccinated through the relevant livestock departments to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Vaccination of pet dogs has also been made compulsory by government sources to help protect against disease transmission by pet dogs. Individuals should contact their government livestock office to ensure proper vaccinations are administered to their dogs, which will help prevent disease transmission.
Owners will also be obligated to ensure that their dogs are regularly vaccinated through authorised livestock departments.
For public safety, it has been stipulated that pet dogs must be kept restrained, and they will not be permitted to roam freely in public spaces.
