Zilhaj Moon Sighted, Eid Ul Adha Date in Pakistan Announced

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has officially announced the commencement of Zil Hajj 1447 AH, confirming that the first day of the Islamic month is observed on Monday, 18 May 2026 in Pakistan.
The decision was taken based on scientific data analysis and verified sighting reports of the moon from all over the country, the official said.
Eid-ul-Adha 2026 Date Confirmed
In the wake of the commencement of Zil Hajj, authorities have also announced that Eid-ul-Adha will fall on the 10th of Zil Hajj (1447 AH). Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on:
- Wednesday, 27 May 2026
With this confirmation, it becomes possible for citizens to make preparations for one of the most important religious activities of the Islamic calendar, which is also called the Festival of Sacrifice.
Day of Arafah to Be Observed on May 26
Day of Arafah is a very auspicious day for Muslims around the globe, and it is a day before Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on:

Pilgrims performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia will gather at the plains of Arafat on this day, while Muslims around the world observe fasting and prayers.
Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Announcement
The final verdict was made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, the official body in Pakistan for moon sighting and issuing of the Islamic calendar. The committee meets with zonal organizations, meteorological offices and scientific experts regularly prior to the confirmation of Islamic months.
The announcement clears the air over preparations for Eid throughout the country, such as livestock markets, travelling and planning holidays.
