The Sindh government has announced that all public and private educational institutions will remain closed on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in observance of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
According to an official notification issued by the Sindh School Education Department, the holiday will be observed across the province, and the closure will apply to both government and private schools.
The decision has been taken to facilitate the observance of Chehlum processions and religious gatherings while ensuring public safety and smooth security arrangements.

The announcement comes just a day after schools reopen following the summer vacations. Educational institutions across Sindh are scheduled to resume academic activities on Monday, August 3, 2026, before remaining closed again on Tuesday, August 4, for the public holiday.
Students, parents, and school administrations have been advised to follow the official notification issued by the Sindh School Education Department regarding the holiday.
Authorities are expected to implement enhanced security measures across the province during Chehlum, with processions and gatherings taking place in various cities.
