Death toll rises to 54 with 3,864 coronavirus confirmed cases in Pakistan till now, says health official

The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan increased to 3,864 on Tuesday. However, 577 COVID-19 patients reported across the country in the last 24 hours. The national dashboard administered by the Federal Ministry of Health confirmed 54 deaths.

The distribution of patients as per the province shows that the infection rate is highest in Punjab. With 1,918 active cases, Punjab is facing a more alarming situation.

Sindh is the second most affected area of Pakistan with 932 confirmed coronavirus cases followed by KPK with 500 cases.

In Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Balochistan, 211 and 202 cases were reported respectively. Islamabad has 83 cases while Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) have the lowest number of cases in the country of which 18 are certified, patients.

Health officials conducted a total of 39,183 tests. However, 3,088 tests done over the past 24 hours.

429COVID-19 patients have recovered until today.

According to data collected by Johns Hopkins University, the worldwide number of cases has risen to 1.3 million, while the number of deaths worldwide hits 74,744.
