Eid-ul-Adha Holidays Announced: Federal Government Issues Official Notification

The federal government has officially announced the Eid-ul-Adha holidays across the country, issuing a formal notification through the Cabinet Division following approval from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

To celebrate one of the biggest religious festival of the Islamic calendar, citizens will have a three-day period of public holidays starting May 26, 27 and 28, the notification said.

The government has confirmed that all government offices, educational institutions and most public offices will remain closed for the designated holidays, allowing families to attend Eid prayers, sacrifice and gatherings throughout the country.

The final order taken at the Federal level and will ease arrangements for public travel and preparations for Eid-ul-Adha.

Eid-ul-Adha also referred to as Festival of Sacrifice, in which Muslims around the world celebrate in remembrance of the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice in obedience to Allah. The festival features special prayers, animal sacrifice (Qurbani), and meat sharing with relatives, friends, and those in need.
