Lyari Expressway Toll Hiked Again – Rs100 for One Way?

Motorists using the Lyari Expressway will now have to pay a higher toll after the one-way toll tax was increased by approximately 43 percent, raising the fee from Rs70 to Rs100.

According to information shared by commuters, the latest increase has sparked concern among regular users of the expressway, as the toll has seen multiple hikes over the past few years.

When the Lyari Expressway was first introduced under the National Highway Authority (NHA), the toll tax remained Rs30 per side for a long period. During 2024–2025, the toll was increased from Rs30 to Rs50, followed by another increase to Rs60 per side.

Last year, the NHA raised the one-way toll by another Rs10, taking it to Rs70. Now, with the latest revision, the one-way toll has reached Rs100, representing an increase of nearly 43 percent from the previous rate.

The repeated increases have drawn criticism from commuters, many of whom say the rising toll adds to the financial burden of daily travel, especially for those who use the Lyari Expressway for commuting between different parts of Karachi.

So far, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has not issued an official statement explaining the latest increase or the reasons behind the revised toll charges.

Motorists are now waiting for further clarification from the authorities regarding the implementation of the new toll rates and whether any additional changes are planned in the future.
