In a significant welfare initiative, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan organized a mass wedding ceremony in Fateh Jang, district Attock, where 120 underprivileged brides were married off with dignity and respect.
The event was a significant social initiative in the area, with the goal of providing assistance to needy families who have financial difficulties.
120 Mass Weddings Completed with Dignity
The Governor, speaking at the ceremony, said that the project had been started in the name of Allah, despite the scarcity of resources.
He said the plan was a small one at first but with the help of philanthropists it grew and there were 120 marriages successfully conducted with full arrangements.
He said:
- No daughter should remain unmarried due to financial hardship
- Every bride deserves dignity and respect
- Welfare projects will continue across Punjab
500 More Mass Weddings Announced After Eid-ul-Adha
A major announcement was also made during the event:
After Eid-ul-Adha, 500 more mass weddings will be conducted.
This growth is a continuation of the government’s emphasis on social welfare schemes to benefit low-income households.
Recognition of Organizers and Supporters
The Governor congratulated the Chief Organizer Malik Kamran Khaki and the supporting team, saying that the programme had been expanded from the initial target of 35 weddings to 100, and is now 120 successful marriages.
He also thanked some contributors and social workers who helped make the initiative possible by providing financial and logistic support.
Welfare Projects in Attock District
During his speech, the Governor also announced several development initiatives in the region:
- Free dialysis and thalassemia treatment center already established
- Planned mother and child healthcare center in Jand tehsil
- Installation of water filtration plants in multiple areas
- Launch of electric bus service from Hasan Abdal and Fateh Jang
These initiatives aim to improve healthcare, clean water access, and transportation facilities for residents.
