CCTV footage claiming to show the fatal shooting of social media influencer Shamsu Bibi (Ayesha Gelamana) has surfaced online as Taxila police investigate murder and attempted murder charges against unidentified assailants.
Alleged CCTV footage has surfaced on social media following the fatal shooting of 28 year old social media influencer Shamsu Bibi, in Taxila, Punjab. She was widely known as Ayesha Gelamana.
The video clip circulating online shows a gunman firing directly at the victim’s vehicle before fleeing the scene. Subsequent frames capture a police contingent arriving at the site alongside a gathering crowd of local residents.
FIR Details and Eyewitness Account
Taxila Police registered a formal murder case based on victim’s father, Fazal’s complaint. The First Information Report (FIR) incorporates charges of murder, attempted murder, and aiding and abetting.
According to the FIR text provided by the victim’s father:
- Shamsu Bibi received a phone call from an acquaintance named Kashif while traveling in a vehicle with her brother, Nematullah, and 15 year old sister, Asmiya Bibi.
- Unidentified assailants on a motorcycle targeted the vehicle. Nematullah reported that the pillion rider opened fire on them, striking Shamsu Bibi in the neck.
- The sudden shooting caused the driver to lose control. It resulted in the vehicle crashing into a parked dumper truck.
- Shamsu Bibi died on the spot at THQ Hospital Taxila. Her sister sustained critical injuries during the shooting and crash, while her brother survived and stated he could identify the attackers.
Ongoing Police Investigation
The Taxila Police Department has launched a multi-angled investigation to verify the authenticity of the viral CCTV footage and trace the perpetrators.
Law enforcement officials are reviewing geo fencing data and analyzing mobile phone call records from the victim’s phone. They are processing physical evidence recovered from the vehicle and crash site.
