Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, will soon appear in public for the first time since taking office.
Iranian officials state that state media will soon release footage of Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei walking on the streets and meeting with armed forces commanders. Qasem Qureshi, deputy head of the Basij organization, confirmed that the new Supreme Leader will soon connect with the public.
Address to Health Speculations
Mojtaba Khamenei became Iran’s new Supreme Leader in March. However, he has not attended any public events since his appointment. His long absence caused many rumors about his health. The Iranian judiciary’s news agency, Mizan, published Qasem Qureshi’s statement to put an end to these health rumors.
High-Level State Meetings
Meanwhile, the Supreme Leader’s office announced on Sunday that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian recently met with Mojtaba Khamenei. The meeting took place at the start of the president’s third year in office, though officials did not disclose the exact date. President
Pezeshkian previously mentioned meeting Khamenei in early May, but the Supreme Leader’s office did not confirm it at that time.
The recent meeting covered major national issues. It included the country’s current military situation and future plans.
