In a swift response to a fire emergency, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab announced that the KMC Fire team successfully extinguished a fire at Parsa Tower, situated along Shahrah-e-Faisal, on Tuesday. The efficient efforts of the firefighting personnel were complemented by ongoing cooling procedures, ensuring the safety of the premises.
Wahab shared the positive development on social media, stating, “Fire at Parsa Tower has been extinguished by the KMC Fire team & cooling process is underway; rescue 1122 team is also present on the ground to deal with any emergency.”
Rescue officials promptly deployed two fire engines to tackle the incident. Tech entrepreneur Jehan Ara, informed by a source in a tech company, first reported the fire around 10:15 pm on X. Ara later confirmed the presence of two fire engines at the scene, emphasizing the successful evacuation of teams from the affected company and expressing hopes for everyone’s safety.
This incident follows a recent fire tragedy earlier this month, where a blaze at Karachi’s Arshi shopping mall claimed five lives and injured two others. The fire, which originated in a shop beneath a residential building, swiftly spread to adjacent shops, vehicles, and trees, eventually engulfing the upper-floor residential quarters. Authorities took approximately three hours to fully extinguish the blaze that erupted at 5:47 pm.
Karachi continues to prioritize swift responses and coordinated efforts in handling fire emergencies, ensuring the safety of its residents and commercial spaces.
