A senior Chinese policy expert has expressed hope that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir could one day receive the Nobel Peace Prize if they continue their efforts toward promoting peace and stability.
Dr. Victor Gao, Vice President of the Center for China and Globalization, made the remarks during a recent statement giving praise to the leadership of the civilian and military authorities of Pakistan.
Dr. Gao says, if Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir proceed in the ‘right direction’ they may just be eligible to share or win the Nobel Prize for Peace in future.
“This is my wish,” Dr. Gao said, emphasizing that his comments reflected his personal hope for Pakistan’s leadership and their contribution to regional peace.
His comments have sparked interest in social media and among political circles, with ongoing debates about Pakistan’s role in the region’s stability, diplomacy, and peace efforts.
The Nobel Peace Prize is given to persons or institutions for their work for peace, conflict resolution, diplomacy or humanitarian efforts. Dr Gao’s remarks are not an official nomination, but in the context of the discussion give an indication of his own opinion about the future status of Pakistan’s leadership.
No official response has yet been issued by the Government of Pakistan regarding Dr. Gao’s remarks.
